Honey, I'll tell you what I see here...you're on thyroid medication and gluc, so it looks like your ol' hormones need a little time to straighten themsleves out. How much gluc were you on prior? Jenn, I know it sooooo frustrating...but this will take a little time, especially now with thyroid medication in the mix. Be patient with yourself and don't give up. I take 2000mg met, and my eating plan, I eat about 70-90g of carbs per day, most if not all of it coming from fruit, veggie, or wholegrains. That seems to be where I feel best, and I got rid of the nasty cravings.
Testing those hormones levels is a good start...it can serve as a benchmark to see if the meds are really helping. Even thyroid meds take a little time to get the dosage right and see improvement. Jenn, I know it's hard, but hang in there... I know how hard you've been working at this, and you deserve results. Don't you dare give up!

I agree with KY...your hormones are so out of sorts...good old fashioned time will have to sort it all out. Sex hormone binding globulin is a pretty major hormone...the ratio of Testosterone to SGHB is called the FREE ANDROEGN INDEX and it is a key hormone is PCOS ladies. Normal for a menstruating woman is up to 8.5 (in Canada) and mine was a 21. It has taken me almost 2 years on Met to get that number under control. So if that number is out of whack, i'm really glad you're on Met. Give it time, sweetie.
I also wondered..is it possible that you are TOO low carbing? if you are only eating cottage cheese and eggs, your body is probably in starvation mode from too little carb and that could be why you are not losing. Set a limit of something reasonable that you can eat to satisfy your nutritional needs and then stick to it, so your body can relax and not try to preserve fat stores.
You hang in there, Jen! We are all here to talk if you need us, and we all wish you well. You are on one of the best drugs there is for
regulating hormones, and if you give it some time, I'm sure you're body will normalize.

Being able to lose weight is a symbol of better health for most of us cysters, and I think you must have some more healing to do. Are you able to add any more exercise? more water? more rest?
Try to feel good and think about the long-term. These meds need a few months, and then you should benefit greatly. I hope your hormone balance is better at that point (and please remind your doctor that PCOS patients are emotionally fragile and don't appreciate comments like that).
Best wishes,
Sheri

Points: 11,246.88 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 11,246.88 | i really appreciate all the support..... at this time i am not just eating eggs meat and cheese..lol..when i did do that i did lose a little wieght but i felt it was toooooo restrictive...and thus gained back 40 pounds arghshsshs
i am going to hang in there its just soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to keep going and not cry everyday,,,either it being my moods, my various physical symptoms.... or just feeling overwhelmed by not just having pcos but other illnesses.... its a FULL TIME JOB grrrrr
my plan for now is to try to do no carbs during two meals..excluding small amounts of fruit...and one meal a day allow carbs..but try to avoid the white kinds like rice bread etc...
i drink tonnnns of water..and excercise..... i really must do better... and maybe this is just an excuse...my my body hurts so much more when i excericse...even just walking that it takes days to recover..... so okay maybe my plan will be to walk 20-30 min 4 or 5 times a week and not push tooooo hard until i get readjusted..
oh i just looked over and my 145 pound boyfriend is eating ice cream and cake...... boy i wanna smack him hahah!!!!
again ladies...thank you so much fo ryour responses..i sure wish in " real life" i had friends like you... xoxoxoxo jenn
