Default Ovarian cysts their symptoms and treatment with Natural Progesterone

Ovarian cysts their symptoms and treatment with Natural Progesterone

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, (PCOS) and its treatment with Natural Progesterone.
DR John Lee says: Ovarian cysts, symptoms, and their treatment"I recommend supplementation of normal physiological doses of progesterone to treat PCOS ( ovarian cysts ). If progesterone levels rise each month during the luteal phase of the cycle, as they are supposed to do, this maintains the normal synchronal pattern each month, and PCOS, rarely, if ever, occurs
.
Natural progesterone should be the basis of PCOS treatment, along with attention to stress, exercise and diet.If you have PCOS or symptoms of Ovarian Cysts.
You can use 15 to 20 mg of progesterone cream daily from day 14 to day 28 of your cycle, adjust accordingly. The disappearance of facial hair and acne are usually obvious signs that hormones are becoming balanced, but to see these results, you'll need to give treatment at least 6 months, in conjunction with proper diet and exercise.
If your symptoms fade, try gradually easing off the progesterone (take half the dose, for example) and see how it goes.
If your symptoms return, stay on the full dose for six more months. Ideally, as a young woman you would use the progesterone cream only during the months you need it, and encourage your body to return to its normal hormonal rhythms as much as possible.
Some women with many damaged follicles may always need to supplement with a little bit of progesterone cream. " The diet and PCOS
Ovarian cysts, symptoms, and their treatmentBy far the biggest lifestyle contributor to ovarian cysts and PCOS is poor diet. Young women with PCOS tend to eat far too much sugar and highly refined carbohydrates. These foods cause an unhealthy rise in insulin levels.
According to Jerilyn Prior, M.D., insulin stimulates androgen receptors on the outside of the ovary, causing the typical PCOS symptoms of excess hair (on the face, arms and legs), thin hair (on the head), and acne.
Eventually this type of diet will cause obesity, which will cause insulin resistance (the inability of the cells to make insulin) which will aggravate the PCOS even more. The androgens also play a role in blocking the release of the egg from the follicle. Ovarian cysts, symptoms, and their treatment
Ovarian cysts are also a problem in many women. Dr. Peat says these are usually associated with a low thyroid condition, and that administration of thyroid hormone can get rid of them by lowering estrogen levels and making the ovaries produce more progesterone.

Dr. Lee's approach, on the other hand, is to administer just the progesterone directly. He says that "natural progesterone, given from day 5 to day 26 of the menstrual month for two to three cycles, will almost routinely" cause disappearance of these ovarian cysts by suppressing normal FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), LH (luteinizing hormone), and estrogen production and giving the ovary time to heal. Furthermore, studies have been reported in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute as far back as 1951 in which progesterone even produced evidence of regression of cervical tumors.

It's reassuring to know that progesterone can protect us in so many ways; but we must all be alert to the fact that the long-range harmful effects of "estrogen dominance" in the body are not widely recognized".

Default Natural Progesterone

Since I am someone with irregular cycles, gets sick and gains weight from birth control pills and does not tolerate provera, I have found tremendous relief from natural progesterone. I take the dosage of 800mg in the form of the micronized tablets from the 12 th day of my cycle to menses and I get a period every month! This is amazing since I would never get my period on time (if at all).
In addition, it also helps to control my weight gain because it stabilizes the effects of estrogen. However, I do not depend on it to control my weight since I still gain it so easily.
Itry to low carb and I still am on metformin and aldactone but I recommend it highly to anyone who cannot take birth control pills, as an alternative to regulating your cycle.

Default Thanks for posting

Thanks -- this was interesting. I have just taken my first course of the tablets, and after withdrawing it i had a period. (the first in 7 months). Now that i've read this, I am hopeful to get to the point where i will begin menstruation on my own each cycle. Thanks for sharing!

Wink

Oh that article was just what I needed to hear. I have been on Provera for a year and a half and recently quit it to go to the natural progesterone cream. Soon I plan to add more herbs to my regimen. Thank you for posting that article. Candi

Default My experiment -

I used the cream from Day 5-26 in order to suppress ovulation (wink, wink, this is not a "real" use for the cream) and I ended up having 2 periods a month, starting on days 14 and 28! This from someone who has had maybe a dozen periods in her life when not on the pill. I did this for 7 months and on the 8th I decided to see what would happen and did not use it at all. From what I have read, you can use it from 5-26 for two-three months and then if you go without it, you should ovulate. According to my temps, I did not ovulate and did not have a period at the times I had been. Then on day 32 I decided to try a short course of cream to see what would happen. (I have a dr's appt on August 9 so was trying to get a period in before then.) I applied 20 mg worth morning and evening for four days. Four days later I started a period. The cream also takes care of my fibrocystic breasts. The lumps have decreased greatly.
