Talking Ovcon 35?

Hi ladies!

Well I saw the nurse practioner today. She said the best thing for me right now would be to take a break from TTC. To go on birth control for 4 to 6 months and try to lose some more weight. Then start TTC again after things calm down. She seemed to think birth control would help with my hormones and cramping.

So we spoke about birth control pills and I asked about Yasmin and Yaz and she said she wouldn't recommend Yaz (she didn't give a reason) but said Yasmin would be ok. Then she mentioned that since Yasmin was new it would be more expensive and that pills were pretty much just pills anyway. So she's put me on Ovcon 35.

She said that it was pretty good for women with PCOS. Anyone currently on these pills or have taken them in the past?

Hugs!

Stacie

I was put on Ovcon when I was first diagnosed with PCOS and stayed on them for 8 years. My periods where like clockwork, my skin cleared up, my excess hair was greatly reduced and I even lost weight! After awhile I started spotting and my gyn switched me to Yasmin...uuuggg! I really prefer Ovcon and I would still be on them if it wasn't for the spotting. It just seemed "gentler" on my system..Yasmin made me sick to my stomach and cause horrible headaches. I felt Ovcon helped with my PCOS symtoms much better. good luck!

Thank you! I'm so glad you shared that with me! I'm hoping it works as well for me!

I've been on OvCon50 (not the same, I know, but close!) for a few months since switching from Yasmin. It stopped the breakthrough bleeding I'd had with every other brand I'd tried, so so far I'm happy with it...
