I have an appt today with my GYNO. I have not lost any weight like I should have. But he did offer it to me the last time I was there. I told him that I wanted to wait to try my monitor first since I had just bought it.
I was just wondering if other cycters where overweight A LOT and was still given Clomid?

I suppose it depends on how overweight you are. My endo won't give me it until I'm down to 210lbs...which to be honest, I think is still too big. But I'll take it then and keep on with the weightloss.
Good luck. x

I'm concerned that me being so big will hamper a delivery and I already have high BP, and am on meds for it so I think that getting pregnant would put my life and the baby's life in danger at the moment.
If you are in good health otherwise then I'm sure the GP will make the right judgement, let me know how you get on. x

I think it's down to how your doctor feels you are.... if everything else is okay for you then I can see no worries, as there are plenty of larger ladies have babies...
I found a great website a while back with some birth stories of bigger ladies...
Thanks you guys!!! I wonder if it's possible to loose weight on Clomid? I know that I really will try so I hope it works.
I do have good health. So hopefully things will turn out ok
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again!!

My Dr did give me clomid and I was about 250-260lbs. Although it was the lowest dosage, and this was a couple yrs back, but he was willing to prescribe them to me when I asked for it. I wish you the best.
No not yet. We are just starting to try again. I have an appointment with my family Dr. in a couple of weeks, but hoping to get in tomorrow possibly if they can squeeze me in I am anxious to get started again.

Hi Holland! I am a fluffy cyster. My weight right now is 248. I am actually going to see my new ob/gyn tomorrow. The first one was truly horrible to me. She told me I was too heavy to be pregnant. She knew I was well aware of the complications of being pregnant while overweight, but she couldn't see past it. I actually gained a couple of more pounds after that appointment. That was in April this year. Then in July, I realized that moping around over it was not going to do anything for me and that since I knew what the risks where I felt I should seek a different ob/gyn. Well...I did that and she agreed with me since I was ready and I understood what the risks were. I also managed to lose the weight that I gained and am at my lowest weight. She was happy to see, that I was trying. So...my appt to get clomid is on 09-06. I've already got the HSG done and my dh has gotten his test done. I will also get those results tomorrow too! So..to answer your question, I think it truly should be up to you! If you understand the risks of pregnancy while being overweight, then go for it! Let me know when you start your cycle...we could probably be on the same cycle Keep in touch!

...but - and I hate to be the devils advocate here- It's not just the mothers health at risk
By being pregnant while dangerously overweight, the unborn baby is obviously heavily at risk.
It shouldn't just be an snap decision where people can go over the medical professionals head, just because its something that we want. Its potentially 2 lives at risk.

I totally agree that it shouldn't be a snap decision. It is really up to the doctor to give you the medication. For my situation, I've have definitely done my research and I understand ALL the risks involved.
