Unhappy Overwhelmed

I am so overwhelmed right now. I want to read all of your posts, but it just makes me feel so swallowed up.

I was diagnosed officially yesterday, but it's been quite a few weeks overall being aware that I had PCOS. My right ovary is 3x the normal size and i am in so much pain right now. Vicodin is not helping. I reacted to Metformin- was in the hospital after one pill, and i'm supposed to start glucophage tomorrow. My Mother in law is like, being real stupid and thinks I'm depriving my husband of stuff... I found out I still have a hymen attached (wtf, seriously) and I just don't know what I'm supposed to be doing with myself. I am seeing dr. gleuck and I know he knows his stuff, but seriously, I can' t seem to focus on anything... I'm overwhelmed. My husband is perfect, completely supportive, but I don't know anyone who really UNDERSTANDS, do you know what I mean?

Plus, I saw a dietician regarding my diet, and I don't know what i'm going to do. I've been a recovered anorexic for 2 years now, and i have 'safe foods' and 'safe dinners' and they're all wrong for PCOS. I have not regained my hunger function back completely from my anorexia, and I have to eat every three hours. I feel like i'm sinking- and my ovary is absolutely seriously preventing me from being comfortable. Oye.

You should go to your gyn to talk about getting an anti-inflammatory for that ovary. I've had that problem too, before getting dx, and was able to take regular tylenol. Not sure what I would be able to take OTC now that I'm on Met, because of its interaction with acetaminophen and the liver. You should also talk about the way you are feeling with dr. A mild antidepressent can and will help. It just takes time to find the right one for you.

I know that the health care providers I go to has two different options for treating PCOS, it's either the Met or BCP, and both come with an automatic rx for an antidepressent. I was told to take it whether I felt like I needed it or not because of the emotional effects PCOS can cause.
