Default Ovulating on BCP

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if you ovulate on the pill. I have heard that yes you do and that no you don't. This week I have been having pains in my ovaries but I wondering if I am ovulating if that goes along with being on the pill. I take my last pill tomorrow morning and so I should have my period by next Tuesday. Anyone have an answer to this??? Sorry if any of this is tmi.

The pill is supposed to suppress ovulation. Pain in your ovaries could be caused by that, or by cysts from PCOS. Ask your doc for an ultrasound of your ovaries.

Hi Viv,

Thanks for the reply. I had an ultrasound done not that long ago and there were no cysts. I have been told by my doctor that when you are on the pill that is suppose to make the cysts burst every month or keep them pretty small so that you don't have to have them removed. Thanks for the reply though.

Hi Viv,

I just wanted to let you know that I went to the doctor on Tuesday and had an ultrasound done and she told me I have mutiple, multiple, multiple cysts on my ovaries. She said they are not big enough to have surgery that the should rupture on their own and absorb back into the ovaries. I also found out that day I have bacterial vaginosis. Does anyone know what that could be caused from??? I just feel gross because I am a very clean person. Does anyone have any ideas She said the pain could be from that or the cysts. Sorry if any of this is tmi.

I thought it would be cysts. BV is pretty common - it has nothing to do with not being clean. It can be caused by lots of different bugs. It clears up pretty easily.

((HUGS)),

I just recently went back on the pill because of cysts in my ovaries. I am on the 10th day, and last week I felt fine (my stomach was flat- I am thin- and not bloated), and this week my stomach feels very bloated almost like my cysts and ovaries got very big again. Does anyone else experience this in the middle of their cycles? My boobs also get very tender and slightly "fuller". It happened a couple times before on the pill, but not every month.
