I have a question that just confuses the heck out of me...I'm hoping someone can help me out. I thought that taking BCP's stopped ovulation, and the hormone surge during/after O was what caused PMS, and since I am supposedly not O'ing that I would not experience PMS. Most months I feel PMSy...VERY sore enlarged boobs, crampy a week before, sometimes emotional/moody (mostly the physical symptoms tho). I thought that by being on a monophasic pill that I wouldn't experience these things anymore. It freaks me out, especially the boobs, cause I always get nervous that I am possibly pregnant and that I am only bleeding from pill withdrawl. I've gone as far as to test before I start my next pill pack a couple of times. I'm taking Ovcon 35 and have been on it since Sept. Anyone have a clue if this is normal or not? I go to my gyn on August 8 for my annual but I was hoping to have an answer before that.

Hi. I can't answer your question about ovulation, but I wanted to let you know that I've been on the pill for years (currently Trilevlen) and every month I have awful PMS, cramps, etc., including breast tenderness. I don't know how "normal" it is, but I just wanted to say you're not alone. I hope that helps.
