Default Ovulation Testing, a.m. or p.m.?

I've been testing to see if I ovulate since March. No luck. I've been testing my uring first thing in the morning, as I find it difficult to hold it for four+ hours during the day. The test instrustions say that first morning urine is "acceptable," but that recommended is urine from after 10 a.m. to like 5 p.m. (Not exactly advantageous for those of us who work during the day, esp. in a very small office where everything is noticed!)

Has anyone out there found that they've had false negatives by testing first morning urine? I would hate to think that after all the meds (Clomid & Metformin) that I'd actually been ovulating, but didn't know it b/c of faulty testing methods.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Drey

P.S. I'm new to the site--this is my first post!

www.peeonastick.com
recommends doing it in the evening rather than the morning and to wait I think 4 hours at least after the last time you used the restroom
the big thing she says is to make sure your urine is nice and yellow, so it's concentrated

I'm no expert either though-- I have yet to get a positive ovulation stick but I've only gone through 14 so far and am probably not ovulating in any case

First off, welcome to Soulcysters!!

Secondly, each brand has different requirements. I use www.saveontests.com and I would pee in the morning and then maybe again but for sure on the stick around 9 or 10 am. Then I would test at night before bed. I never watched my water intake.

Once I thought I had a + OPK I tested with a digital yes/no OPK and only abstained from fluids for an hour or so and then the next time I had to pee I'd use it.

Do you know for sure if you're ovulating? Maybe you're doctor should give you a P4 test around CD 23 to see if anything is happening. You could request to be monitored though U/S as well. Are you temping?

Good luck cyster!
