Default Ovulation without temperature rise?

Is it possible to ovulate without the temperature rising afterwards? Or does a lack of temperature rise mean that there has definitely not been any ovulation?

if you have a progesterone issue, yes....but then a pregnancy likely wouldn't make it.

typically though, your temperature will rise after ovulation.....I would say nearly always

I personally have ovulated w/o a temp rise (o was confirmed via blood work) so yes its possible, but is usually associated with a problem. (Pretty sure for me it was thyroid, b/c once that was in "Normal range" I had a definite thermal shift with O).

If you think you O'd (ie other symptoms to indicate) have your doctor do b/w to confirm. If you did O, with no thermal shift, I would have your thyroid levels checked.

Good luck!

Definitely possible, while temping works for the majority- it doesn't work for everyone.

However, it is a good startign point. If you are concerned about anovulation, you could ask for a progesterone draw at 7 days past what you think is Ov. That should give you more answers- or a better place to start.

I have had my thyroid levels checked, and that's not the problem. So far all they can find are slightly elevated testosterone levels. My ovulation tests are always positive so I can't use that anyway. I have all the signs of ovulation, but my temperature doesn't indicate that anything's happened.
I am a bit confused because my cycles have always been regular. While ttc our son I used ovulation tests and they worked fine and I ovulated every cycle and we had no problem conceiving. Something has happened since his birth though, and because of the constantly positive ovulation tests I see no other option than temping and it confuses me a bit. But I've also heard that with PCOS, if you have ovulation signs but temp never rises it means the body's trying to ovulate but can't do it.
