Hi Melayna!

This is my second month on Ovulex. I know that I ovulated last month, and it definitely is doing something! Why don't you join us ladies over in the current ovulex thread for all of our info:

TTC using Ovulex-Join Me!!

Have you purchased ovulex yet? It's a bit pricey, but they have a satisfaction guarantee- if it doesn't work, you get your money back. Definitely cant hurt if you want to try the natural route before going with Clomid!

I had not heard of it but I am courious about different products and what's in them.

Here is the website: http://www.ovulex.com/
also see http://www.selmedica.com/

I also want to know what was in it - I had some trouble finding that on the website. (did I just miss it?)

This is not as complete as I had hoped but here it is: (source http://www.health-fact.com/ovulex.htm)

Quote:
Ovulex is a certified natural product and contains no chemically generated compounds, fillers or artificial additives. Selmedica Healthcare use only the finest laboratory certified ingredients in their highest concentrated and digestible compounds to create Ovulex. This includes:

# Chaste tree berry a herb that stimulates the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) from the pituitary gland in the brain. This, in turn, promotes ovulation. Chaste tree berry may restore normal periods in women with amenorrhea (lack of menstrual periods).

# Dong quai which is widely used for female complaints, including menstrual irregularities and infertility, dong quai can tone a weak uterus by promoting metabolism within the organ and regulating hormonal control and improving the rhythm of the menstrual cycle.

# Red clover blossoms which are beautiful little flowers categorized in many herbals as fertility promoters. Chemical analysis shows that the herb is rich in coumestans and isoflavones, estrogen-like compounds that may promote fertility, particularly in women who are deficient in estrogen.

# Licorice which is a plant containing hormonally active compounds categorized as saponins. A Japanese study found licorice-based medicines improved menstruation in women with infrequent periods. The study also found that licorice helped women with elevated testosterone and low estrogen levels, which is a common occurance in polycystic ovary disease.

# Siberian ginseng a tonic botanical that can improve fertility by enhancing overall health and vitality. Siberian ginseng also acts on the brain to promote regulation of reproductive hormones.

# Other ingredients include: Chinese Red Ginseng Root, Astragalus Root, Cayenne Fruit, Echinacea Whole Plant, Fo Ti Root, Golden Seal Root, Guarana Seed, Panax Ginseng Root& Extract and Siberian Ginseng Root.

Just for comparison:

Ingredients for FertilityBlend (link): http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...=29384&tab=0#0

Ingredients for Insulite PCOS System (link):
http://pcos.insulitelabs.com/PCOS-Elements.php

I found s in the FAQ's for Insulite & FertilityBlend that for both it NOT recommend to continuing taking during pregnancy. I did not find info one way or the other on Ovulex but it might be better to err of the side of cautions (anyone?)

Also Mary's PCOS Treatment FAQ is a very good resource on natural (and medical) treatment options for PCOS and might be another thing to compare --- although is says in the disclaimer that her website is not about ovuation or fertillity -- it is still a very good resource for PCOS and I think that at least some of the ingredients in Ovulex and the other products are listed (with a helpful summary).
