| Rebekah Marie Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Australia ![]() | G'day chickies! Started to get a little gathering of aussies. Us so far: PJ VedderGirl Gina32 hkgrl7 LeeDawson Elkanah Spanish29 deb_e_deb26 Hayles Bekfaz Everyone and anyone is welcome! A little intro..... I'm from Perth, I'm 23 (24 in Feb). Been trying since May. Diagnosed PCOS July 07. Has been an interesting ride so far. I truly believe I am getting stronger because of all of this. My hubby is 31 and we have two puppies. I work as an office manager (a secretary) and, to tell you all the truth, I am trying my hardest to get on with my life without making TTC my only focus. Trying to get on with the other awesome parts of life!!!!!!! Can't wait to speak to you all soon. Later! x

I have found there's not a lot of action on the Aussie boards, but every time I've been there with a question there is someone helpful on there. I tend to spend most of my time lurking and learning on the ttc boards, and other areas. It's good to have 'locals' to ask questions of too. I guess most of my info re ttc is in my siggie. I've just got a referral for the Hollywood Infertility Clinic in Perth (hey there Bek, another Perth gal), but I haven't made an appointment yet, as I'm still undecided as to how much further I want to go. Gina, I've never heard of Puregon? What exactly is it? Hey Deb, I think I ran into you on the 'unmarried' thread ![]()

The other main FSH drug is Gonal F. I go to Fertility North in Joondalup and see Margo Norman. She will only do a couple of Clomid cycles, then moves onto Puregon because it's easier to work with (until she met me, of course LOL). Are you from north of the river, or south of the river? I'm from the north. I hear great things about Hollywood Fertility.

You could always go to the clinic, see what options they present you etc and then decide to go from there..I went to an RE who prescibed clomid and for us, it was what worked....I did pop my head in on the Unmarried thread, I havent been back to it, so I must do that!! Gina - I'll be heading over tonight to b*tch slap ya levels into action...hheheheh!! I'll try not to hurt, but no promises..Seriously though, I hope things start to improve...Have your Doc thought about another kind of drug for ya? One that you might respond to a little better? I know there are a fair few different ones out there..might be worth asking, just a thought! Hayles!!Best be off, I am making some cookies....found the receipe on the back of some cooke cutters I bought for the kids and thought I would give it a sho while they are asleep..my dough is "resting" right now, along with the kids..LOL!!

| moon-tracker Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Australia ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the info Gina. I'd heard of Gonal F, but never Puregon. I'm south of the river, don't venture up north very often! Deb, I think you're right about checking out my options at the clinic. I lived over east (Northern NSW) till this year (I'm a Perth girl, but hubby was from over east and we lived there for 4-5 years, until I got WAY too homesick) and was seeing a wonderful OB/Gyn on the Gold Coast (well worth the 4 hour drive!). I've tried Clomid, and it seems to do NOTHING for me. I took it this last cycle because I still had a packet left over from last year, and it actually DELAYED my ovulation, if you can believe it! Met's been the wonder drug for me - it sent me from extremely erratic cycles to somewhat regular 38 day cycles since it was upped this year to 1500mg. Oh, and I haven't been back to the unmarried thread either ![]() Hey Bek, I'm glad you've heard good stuff about Hollywood, although I'm sure it's expensive as well! I've also been to see Bronwyn Stuckey (RE) at Charlie Gardiner, and was NOT impressed. That was April this year, and I've yet to manage to get the results from all the tests she ran on me! Have you started any treatments at Pivet yet? Oh well, nice to see all you ladies here. I'm off to relax, it's bloody hot here this afternoon, going to sit in front of the fan ![]()

| Rebekah Marie Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Australia ![]() | Go hayles!!!!! EAT LOTS of Cookies!!!!!!! Katie, Yes, I have heard Hollywood is expensive, but when you consider the reward, it's so worth it. Pivet is expensive too. Some things you can get back from Medicare, other things aren't covered. I am being monitored at pivet at the moment (I'm having surgery early next year), at the moment they just want to see what my body is doing.

| Registered User Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Perth, Australia ![]() ![]() | Hi lovelies, I'm very hard at work lol!!! All right ladies, I need a cyber-hug. I'm day 16 and still only have 3 10mm follies, so I'm p'ed off. Margo (RE) had wanted me to have a special day 2 ultrasound with a specialist in West Perth, but I can never get in to see her. I have a large cyst on my right ovary, that Margo thinks may be causing a problem, and she wants to have a look before going in for surgery. Never mind. Hayles - Enjoy the cookies. Deb made my mouth water too!!! Where abouts do you live - North or South? I'm up in Padbury. Hey Bek - What surgery are they doing for you next year? How's the monitoring going? Same question - North or South? I'm up in Padbury. Katie - I didn't last long on Clomid, either. My RE reckons that it causes more problems than it's worth, for a lot of PCOSers. Mind you, maybe I need a change of drug, as well!! Debbie - How you going, sweetie? How's Patrick, Noah and Keltie going? Thanks for the suggestion about changing drugs. I see Margo in a couple of weeks, so maybe we'll have a chat. Originally, we weren't going to continue beyond Christmas, but now that's nearly here, our thinking has changed!!! I suppose I had better go and do some work now, lol!! Chat soon. Love, Gina xxx
