thankyou for the information about Dr Margo Norman. I rang to make an appointment and was told she no longer does Gyno only obstetrics. Story of my life! every doctor seems like this now.

Amy | Hey Amy,
Bummer about what Margo's rooms told you - but what you need to do is get a referral to Margo Norman at Fertility North (at Joondalup Hospital). They are right, she no longer does general gynae work, but specialises in Obstetrics and FERTILITY. Sorry, I should have explained a bit better.
I've attached a link to their website - http://www.fertilitynorth.com.au/specialists.php
Hope this makes things a little clearer for you.
Take care
Gina

My Mood: Points: 3,152.85 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,152.85 | Hi all,
Gina, thankyou for that info i have made a booking with Margo Norman at fertility north on june 25. Was suprised to get an appointment so quickly. HUbby and I are trying not to get our hopes to high considering the last 2 fertility specialists told us that a 22 year old with PCOS should lose weight and wait for AF to return. Sounds so simple and text book, hopefully third time lucky.
Just a quick question for everyone, I was given Provera to induce AF i finished the 5 day cycle on Monday and still no sign of AF. Im a little concerned and confused as the specialist I saw didnt seem to give me much info about provera other than that it will bring on AF but not ovulation.
What an emotional challenge, i was told by a friend that her dr specialised in natural/herbal fertility. If I dont get much joy from this specialist I wont have a choice other than to give it ago.
ALSO!! Is there any girls from OZ here that weigh more than 100kg and are trying to concieve and perhaps have been given clomid or another form of IVF. Im starting to think that maybe my age is the thing that is the problem here! My GP has been wonderful and understanding, and all for trying to concieve our first but no one else seems to be giving us the same support..
Thanks Girls
xx

Amy - I was around 115kg or a little less when I went to my RE and got prescibed clomid. I had seen him previously and he knew I had worked hard to lose weight ( my choice, was not told too), but it had crept back ... he knows pcos can make it really hard for women to lose weight and keep it off...you doc should not be such a a$$hole..if they knew anything about pcos, they would know its hard to get weight off..not impossible, but bloody hard! Can you see anyone else?
I cant help you on the provera, I only took it once many many years ago..I think it can sometimes take a bit for AF to arrive, maybe post on the TTC board or do a search as there will be many posts about that...All th best hun and good luck with Margo!
I best run, the kids are still sleeping :O, so I should be getting something out fr dinner, cause they will be up any minute!! They have been alseep for around 2.5-3hrs! tired little buggers obviously!

My Mood: Points: 1,796.29 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,796.29 | Amy, concerning Provera it can take up to 2 weeks for AF to show up after taking the last tablet. i was 117kg when i concieved DS, but this was before i got diagnosed and i was 19, depending on which specialist you see will determine the weight issue some clinics like you to be under 100kg's and others aren't that concerned about it. good luck in your TTC journey and i hope you get a BFP soon. |

I was wondering if anyone had gone to the Jocelyn Center in Sydney and had success ( www.fertility.com.au)
I have had friend who have been deemed 'infertile' go (not PCOS) and concieved almost straight away after trying for up to 8 years.
They have massive success rates!
I really want to go, but just trying to figure out if its worth the huge price tag!
I'd love to hear if anyone has gone!

My Mood: Points: 3,152.85 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,152.85 | hey girls, need ur help!
I
am currently on OI on CD 17. I took clomid on days 2-6 100mg as instructed by my fertility specialist. My eostrogen spiked about a week ago to 550 for 1 day (normally sits on 300-350), but LH was 7 and progesterone 2 which meant they stayed the same.
On Friday, my oestrogene levels were back to 350 but LH was at 9. Then today my oestrogene was 350 again with a LH of 12. LH seems to be going up, but it seems to be late in my cycle and my ultrasound didnt seem to have alot of activity accept a follicle of 8mm which may of been associated with my PCOS.
Does this mean I ovulated when my oestrogen was 550, or getting ready to ovulate now? Does oestrogene and LH rise together for ovulation to occur? Or could i be pregnant??
So confused, can someone help? |
