I hae the night off. I may be looking after my landlady's little boy, not sure yet. If not, most likely will head down to Denny's to visit Ray.

Not to sound like I am making a personal attack on any persons family members.....but you have to think if these "christians" are so anti gay and so close minded...hence they judge like a mo fo..... they are not real followers of their own religion. Can you say hypo... I think of these groups with such mass followers more like a cult than a wholesome loving religion.

Really? I'm a pagan but I hate this anti-Christian rhetoric! Its so irritating and I get enough of it from the pagan websites I'm on. Leave the PCOS forums peaceful please!
My dad's a minister, and my mother was raised in a Catholic family. My being a Pagan Witch doesn't mesh too well, but besides the occasional tsk and scoff from them, we generally completely ignore our theological differences. I converted at 13, and haven't looked back, though I have grown a great deal and become much more at peace with Christians since.
I have an almost three year old son, and I'm exposing him to as many different religious paths as I can while he is young. My ex-husband is Native, though a steadfast Atheist, and so I am also incorporating a great deal of Midewiw'in practice into my own rits so that my son knows his father's culture as well as my faith. I do a lot of smudging and I've been teaching him stories of Nanabush the spirit. My little guy knows how to purify himself in the sacred smoke now, which is pretty cool.
Both of my parents are Southern Baptists so whenever I decided to tell them about me not being of their faith anymore, they went nuts lol especially when I told them I was studying Paganism and other religions/faiths similar to it. I told them when I was 18 (I'm 23 now).
There is no way that I would be able to tell them about my orientation...they would definitely disown me. They have come to accept my spiritual path in their own way but they still say rude comments like, "if you prayed to our God, things would be better for you." I just ignore them because I know they wouldn't listen even if I decided to tell them about what I believe. I think that I will be able to tell them whenever they're ready to know (which may be never but that's ok with me).
