Default Page starts halfway down?

Just wondering why this happens....

Sometimes when I log in the first half of the page is blank, I have to scroll way down to see the threads etc...
It seems to be random, If I log in 4 times a day it will be like that half the time.
It happens when I am on my work computer using IE, not at home using Firefox.
Thanks!

When did the problems start?

What version of IE are you using?

What is your screen resolution?

I believe it's IE 7, it's been going on off and on for a few weeks, and I don't know about the resolution. How do I check that. It's not a huge deal, I can still see everything, I just thought it was odd.
Thanks-

I think the explanation is here:
**IMPORTANT BOARD FUNCTION/FORMAT Thread - PLEASE READ***

Part of it is a board software bug. It was supposed to be fixed last week, but i got bogged down with other issues, and didn't have time to deal with the techs...

I use firefox, and I've noticed that this happens to me as well, but only when I have my bookmarks tab open.

I am finding that if my screen is not maximized then I need to scroll down past the ads.

I am using IE 6 with SP2.

It's been like that for me constantly for maybe two months? Okay, at least a month, but it seems like forever!

I use Safari 2.0.4, but while I have Firefox and IE and Netscape too, I just don't like them very much and prefer Safari. It's annoying, but I've gotten used to it.

Just thought you might like to know that at least for this Mac user, it's been like this for a while, and it's all the time, not intermittently.

I have a 12 inch Powerbook G4 laptop, it's currently set at 1024 x 768. What should it be on?

I'm having this problem today, I have IE 6 and my res is 1024 x 768.

I have included 2 screenies because I couldn't not fit all of the 'gap' on one screenshot.

they follow on, number 1 is the top of the page, number 2 is right down by the post.

Let me check with James. But you might try flipping through them to see which one 'makes it work'. I'll see if I can find it on the other thread on this issue.

Was it on all threads, or just on some. Part of the problem is that several people now have images and blinkies in their sigs that are throwing off formatting. If the scroll problem is on and off, it's something in a post or sig that's the problem.

yeah its on and off, just odd threads, for example this on was ok, but Chula's post 'i just want to know why' (in this forum) was halfway down the page.
