Thumbs down Pain!!!

Hi ladies,

Im kinda grasping at straws here but im depserate! At the point of jumping off a bridge! literally!

I have suffered with PCOS sice I was 11 years old (im now 24)

In the last five or so years I have suffered with tremendous pain on the right side lower abdomen.

Im on pethidine, paracetamol, metformin, anti inflammatories and anything else I can get my hands on just to get through the day.

Im looking for new ideas on how to cope with it and wondered if anyone knows an avenue I havent tried.

Like i said ladies, Im desperate.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated no matter how small they seem, anythings better than this!

Thanks for you time

Grace

Have the doctors determined what is the cause of your pain??? To me that is the question that needs answering. My pain appears to have been caused (I've had serious pain for the last two years) by a polyp in my uterus. I'm having it removed August 13.

Have you tried to visualize the pain away? I have rheumatoid arthritis and my group leader in a research study I participate in taught me how to do this. I thought she was seriously nuts at first but after practicing I got the hang of it and it really works. She had me pick a color for the pain (red) and a color for non-pain (blue). I had to be relaxed and 'see' the red pain in my mind. I'd breathe in 'blue' and exhale the red and keep doing it until the pain was better. It doesn't give long term relief, but when it is really bad, it will help.

I had another thought....have you been checked for endometriosis? That can cause tremendous abdominal pain. It won't show up on x-rays or sonograms. It has to be discovered by a laprascopy which is outpatient surgery.
