Thread: Pain 7-10 days midcycle?

    Default Pain 7-10 days midcycle?

I have been diagnosed with polycystic appearing ovaries. I do not ovulate on my own, my ovaries are covered in "pearl-like" cysts, but my hormone levels are normal. For the last year I have been having pelvic pain mid-cycle. It feels like my ovary is going to burst. Is this normal? I have an ultrasound on Monday, but I am freaking out that something is wrong. My provider said my right ovary is enlarged, but I know this can be normal in PCO. Any reassurance would be great!

If I remember correctly, there are many cysters who have cysts burst which could cause pain. I don't know if I said this correctly or not but I think that is what it may be.

I have PCOS but no cysts so I can not be sure about this. I know someone else will confirm or correct my reply if I am wrong. There are alot of cysters here who are very helpful with this.

Julie is right, its most likey pain from a cyst bursting. It can be really painful, so just take it easy ((hugs)) Welcome to SC! Are you taking any meds or seeing a endocronologist or obs/gyno?

Thanks for the replies gals. I have had cysts burst before (extremely painful), but this is different. The pain always occurs midcyle and once my LH surges it starts to go away. I am having an ultrasound tomorrow so wish me luck.

I do not see an endocrinologist because my labs are always normal. I have polycystic appearing ovaries and I'm anovulatory. I have two children both conceived on clomid. I also had one miscarriage, conceived on clomid. My husband and I have not used any form of birth control for 10 years and have never gotten pregnant on my own. My youngest is now 3 years old. Tried a couple cycles of clomid about 4 months ago without success. We'll see, I might try for one more!

    Thanks for the advice!
    Elizabeth
