Does anyone else experience pain during intercourse? Does anyone have any advice for making penetration a little less painful? Should I make an appt with my dr about this? Please tell me that I'm not the only one...*embarassed*
I think that you should see your doctor about it. I dont know what it could be but it is better to have it checked out than it is let it go and not know.
By the way - not to sound anti doctor- do not let hte doctor suggest is it all in your head. I have always been told that things are just in my head only to find out later that they were not!

I have always had pain during intercourse...sometimes it's unbearable, some times it's isn't. I also have endometriosis, and I am pretty sure it comes from that. So you should definately talk to your doctor about it.

Linda - The secretion you mentioned sounds similar to the stories I've heard of women who have had a cyst rupture. You might have had one on your left ovary, it ruptured, and some of the fluid was absorbed by your uterus and expelled.
Lyrra - I always have pain during penetration. Sometimes it's more uncomfortable than others, and lubrication levels don't seem to affect it. I don't have any answers, but wanted to let you know that you're not alone. :-)

I also experience A LOT of pain during and after intercourse. It feels like DH is ripping me open... and he is not a big guy (if you know what I mean). Also, every time he ejaculates, it burns like hell!
No, I do not have endometriosis. DH's sperm has been tested, and he does not have a high Ph level. I also do not have a yeast infection... unless it has lasted for 2+ years!
I wish I could just figure it out.

I was having pain during intercourse (and some bleeding) as well....sometimes it was so bad DH would have to stop :o
I spoke to my Gynae about it and he said it was because I was frigid which I knew was rubbish!!!
I went on with the pain for two years and finally after seeing three different Gynae's had a hysteroscopy and found the pain was from fibroids in my uterus and polyps.
I hope your Dr finds whatever is causing your pain, good luck.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I might revive this thread. I've grinned and beared the pain for too long. I finally went to another Ob/Gyn to see if she could figure out what was wrong with me. She did a pelvic exam and told me right away she knew what was wrong! She has diagnosed me with Vaginal Atrophy. Basically the walls of my vagina are paper thin, caused by having such low estrogen levels. She has put me on Estrace for six weeks, and then she wants to check me again to see how I've improved.
I've done a search on the internet for vaginal atrophy, but all I've been able to find are articles on menopausal women. I'm only 28!
If anyone finds any articles on younger women with vaginal atrophy, please let me know. I'd love to read it.
Thanks!

I know that with the penetration it really only hurts when I am not relaxed!! Once I try to relax it's not as painful. I know that I have a burning after. Also I told the Dr that I have not been able to O for about 4 out of our 5 years of marriage. He thinks that I'm just not relaxing enough. But I feel like that if have not O'd for that long then it must be something else. The Dr just told me this about 1 month ago so I have decided to give it a little more time since I have been stressed lately. If there nothing soon he's going to be hearing from me again.

I have had both pain at penetration w/ burning when he ejaculates and pain with thrusting. I was given a vaginal cream (estrogen) and it helped a great deal with the pain at penetration and the burning, but not the thrust pain that was endometriosis.
The pain is what told me I had something wrong, that was when I was 20 or 21, I am now 30. It actually felt like he hit something inside me and still does some of my cysts are so big I can touch them from the inside. I will not exaggerate when I say that the first few times it happened it felt like somehting exploded insde me and the pain was so bad I would have done ANYTHING to make it stop!!! Years Later my girlfriends who has several kids had the same experience and I told her what it was. She said it was like having the most horrific contractions during child birth. I told her since I have no kids I have had technically atleast 10 kids by now if you average 4-8 hours of painful labor per kid over 10 years.
Ive never had pain before till the other night. I had a really bad burning after making love to my husband. Someone suggested it could have been the KY Jelly I used for lubrication. But I just started thinking that I didnt have the burning feeling when I used the KY, I started burning after my husband " finished" inside me. So now im wondering what is going on. I never burned before with my husband. So now im not sure.
