 PAIN! Norethindrone (Aygestin)
My doctor prescribed 1 tablet (5mg) twice a day for 10 days to bring on my period. The whole time that I've been taking this medication, I have had abdominal cramping. It started out a few times per day mild to severe. I'm now having sudden and sever cramps probably 5 times within a half an hour, it's almost constant... and it is SO severe, I can barely stand it.
I just called my doctor's office and talked to the on call doctor. All he said was to stop the medicine, I should get my period, and not to worry about the pain!?!
Has anyone experienced this before? It is lower abdominal pain. He said, "oh that's just period cramps". I told him I don't get this when I get my period, and he doesn't seem to think there's anything of significance here.
I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this. Thanks!
