I dont know if this is the right board to post this but I have a ?.
My stomach kills after I eat. It lasts for hours until I think my stomach has emptyed it contents. I have acid reflux disease but I dont think this is due to that. Could I have an ulcer? I am afraid to eat because of pain. Has anyone had this happen to them too?
I have!!! It's miserable. But I've noticed I only get the pain when I eat foods with carbohydrates. See my post in "Side Pain". I'd love to get some answers!

Could be your gall bladder. The only symptom I had of having gall stones and an almost dead gall bladder was that uncomfortable, but not killing me, pain in my stomach after I would eat. Like you said, it would last until it seemed like it was long enough for my food to be digested. I never had the awful gall bladder attacks that everyone else speaks of, Thank GOD! I don't think I could handle that.

My future MIL had her gall bladder removed a few years ago, but still has attacks to a point. She said they are no where near as bad, but she has to finish every meal off with a couple of Tums. I will have to wait and see if it still bothers me once I get my gall bladder removed. But when I had an ulcer, my stomach always felt better when it had something in it. When it was empty, I had acid reflux and was told that the acid was eating at my stomach, causing the ulcer. I had to have several small meals a day to try to keep something in my stomach while I was taking meds to treat the ulcer. So unless there are different types of ulcers, I'm thinking that might not be what you have. Talk to your doctor and get it treated, whatever it is. Good luck.

it could be any of the problems mentioned above...and i'll suggest another one too - h. pylori (a bacterial infection that they've now linked to ulcer and heart problems). i had it for years and underwent a zillion gastro tests until one day someone tested me for it on a whim. my symptoms were what felt like an acidy stomach...and eating didn't make it better...only worse at times.
anyhoo, definitely check in with your doc.
