Default Painful Feet

I have been having alot of swelling and pain in my feet.

I made a discovery this morning around 3am. I could not sleep and my feet hurt so bad.(I think that is how I got woke up)
Any how, I got to thinking about a few things....

1) I got real sick last year after starting the BC pill.(Told Dr dif times about side effects)
2) It effected my muscles, which includes the uteris(big muscle)
3)BCP(birth control pills) are proven to cause adenomyosis(what caused the uteris infection/disorder)
4) I now know, had I stopped the pill when I first thought it was causing problems,(side effects) I may not had to have a hysterectomy because it would not have caused the issues with my uteris.(already proven fact)

So here at three am, in pain, looking back since my surgery, and all the questions to both Dr's about the pain and swelling I'm dealing with. I realised for about the 10th time this foot pain started AFTER surgery and AFTER I started hormone replacement therepy!!
I always suspected the hormone patch but again no one believed me!! DUH!! Same sh!t as the pill !

So at 4am as I lie in bed I thought about cutting my patch in half or removing it all together.
My Dr appt is not until Thursday, so I decided to take the patch off and see what happened.

Within 30 minutes I had relief in my feet. I also put together that my worst pain came on within 24 hrs of replacing the patch.Which I had just done last night.
I don't know yet for sure, we will see how I do over the next few days. But I am more willing to deal with night sweats than foot pain.
I am still in shock how in such a very short time I got relief. Small amount, but at this point I won't get picky!

I'll let you know how I do after work.
Patty

That is really interesting and also kinda scary! Makes you wonder what all these hormones we pop are really doing to us in the long run! After the newest study info was released about HRT it really made me think that in our society we like to develop a pill to fix any kind of discomfort we are in but menopause is a totally normal and natural process but we try to artificially go through it with no effects. I think it would be so much healthier for us to just embrace our bodies' natural cycles and get through them in a healthy manner. Just my opinion of course as I haven't had to suffer through a night sweat lol!

Well by the end of my shift, my sore feet were back.

Today they are just as sore as last night but not as bad as before.

I don't know how things will go.
But I sure was edgy yesterday at work.
So emotionally, we'll have to wait and see again.

Vanessa,

I'm not sure if you noticed, but the reason I am on the HRT is because I am 35 years old and I had a total hysterectomy.
There are more symptoms of menopause than just the sweats. That is the least of the problems.

Emotional stability is the main factor and when your body is trying to go through menapause, your emotional control is pretty much gone. this all started for me about age 30. So with the pill and now the patch, I actually have had the best relief for it.

So I'm about 20 years to early for menopause.
They are trying to keep things young to avoid bone loss and a few other issues.

But I have to be aware of the risk of cancer too.

Thanks for the reply though, support is always a good thing,

Patty

Hi, Patty

I am so sorry to hear about the foot pain. I remember you posting about foot pain before and it is so frustrating to have to cope with that again.

I never totally understood how depressing foot pain could be until this April when I had severe heel pain flare up overnight and have been in pain with it every day since. My heart really goes out to you.

It is plantar faciitis, caused by the fact that my right foot's heel twists inward and the toe twists out when I walk or stand! I aggravated it by stepping up my walking program. I went to a podiatrist this week and am starting physical therapy twice a week.

I am at the age where I could enter menopause and am NOT looking forward to it. I am sorry that you have to experience those symptoms because of the hysterectomy.

Those of you with healthy feet...NEVER take them for granted! Sore feet can affect your whole outlook!

I hope and pray that things can improve for you, dear cyster Patty!

Kathryn
