Unhappy Painful shaving?

I new to the website and was wondering if anyone else had this problem:

My leg hair is EXTREMELY thick. I have to wait at least a week or two in between shaves to shave again or else it hurts like no other, It even hurts for water to touch my legs in the shower for the first few days after shaving.

Does anyone also have this problem? If so what do you do to alleviate it?
I've tried so many different types of razors, shaving creams, waxing, nair type stuff and nothing works.

Hairy legs aren't the end of the world -- I simply keep mine covered so I don't need to shave them.

If you want to avoid irritation buy a beard trimmer and then use it on your legs without any of the combs attached. That may actually be good enough for you to leave as it is, but if you want them really smooth and not irritated, use a men's-type Philips Norleco electric razor with rotary heads. That's the least irritant way of shaving I know. However these razors are useless if the hair is any more than about 1/16" -- you have been warned :-).
