I had my second one today, the first I ever had didn't hurt.. But today's really did. When she said she was pressing up on my ovaries was the part that hurt the most especially the left one.. Has anybody else experinced this before?

Yes, I understand. The first internal ultrasound that I had was very painful. I was 17 and didn't understand about asking questions. My suggestion to you is ask your dr why it was painful. I was also wondering why you had lap? I am going to the dr on Tuesday to find out if I need to have it done. Thanks.
I'm guessing it could've been from the cysts, it was weird.. The stick thing itself inserting didn't hurt, it was the part when she went after my ovaries getting pictures. She knew it was hurting me, but she had to get the pictures. But like I said, the first one I had it didn't hurt me like this one did, and it was the same girl that did it then as well.
I had the lap surgery cause the dr (at the time) wasn't satisfied with the blood test diagnosis of PCOS with the doctor before him, so he decided to go in and check it out, and it was a good thing that he did cause I had some adhesions that had really done some damage to my small intestine and ended up getting some of that removed. I'll go for my second surgery to check out on the endometriosis in July. People have these surgeries for either diagnostic reasons, taking care of adhesions, lesions, and cysts from various internal problems, or both. From the first surgery I had a relief from PCOS for about a year, My ovaries were attatched to my intestines from ruptured cysts and adhesions. After the surgery I had a years worth of normal periods until I had a very bad infection and was given an medchine that I was allergic too and did a hemorhagic type of bleeding that landed me in the hospital and every since then 1 1/2 ago it's been downhill... The results that I had from the surgery are not typical, everybody has a different response to it. If you have one, I hope you have a good response and the results are good! Goodluck!

It depends on who is doing the u/s and if they are having a hard time "finding" what they are looking for. I have a tilted uterus so they have to tilt the device at an odd angle and depending how long they are searching, it gets very uncomfortable.
It didn't used to hurt when I had tv ultrasound but since I had my daughter and then a lap it has on the left when they are pressing to find the ovary. My DH thinks that I got some adhesions from the lap and that may be something to do with it also it was worse as the follicles grew larger. Could you take some painkillers before you have your next scan?

I had a vaginal ultrasound a week ago and didn't experiance any pain until she started pressing on my ovaries...... boy was that uncomfortable. Not sure if that is normal to feel that kind of pain with a Vaginal U/S.
Within 24 hours after the US I started bleeding again and I just quit on Monday(14). I'll be calling the doctor tomorrow or talk to her about it when she calls me about the US. I think something might've happened cause I've been in pain ever since I had that thing done and I started bleeding not to long after having it done..

I just wanted to comment. I have pain all the time during vaginal examinations and sex. the doc . said it was from the ovaries being enlarge . yes it sucks. so bad that it hurts so bad i cry. all the docs keep doing is pre. medications to relief pain. thats it. Jenn i hope this works for u.
the process if the vag. u/s didn't hurt, but for about 3 days afterwords I was sore... like I was bruised internally... it hurt to sit, use the restroom, intercourse, etc. I had my second one today... hope I won't be as sore as the last time...

I just went yesterday for a US. My doctor is the one who did it this time not a tech. I actually didn't have pain when they looked on the right side that has the cyst but when she looked at the left it was painful. Although, the pain didn't last long at all. I haven't had any bleeding either.
I've had 2 in the past month. the first one hurt REALLY REALLY bad; then I started af the next day. then I had the 2nd one in the middle of my cycle, and it didnt hurt at all. my doc said the 1st one probably hurt cause i was just about to get af; so my ovaries were more enlarged than usual and other stuff like that that happens before af. Just my experience, thought i'd share
