Thanks for this - it's a very helpful reminder for my family. I would be interested in seeing something like this include PCOS' links to mental state and also to weight gain/difficulty losing weight. My husband is convinced I have PCOS because I am overweight. I look at my Dad's family and can see the obvious genetic link, and think it's the other way around. And I think it affects the men in terms of weight and insulin resistance as well.

Diagnosis's: Asthma Insulin Resistance

Medicines: Proventil HFA (1 puff every four hours as neeed for shortness of breath), Advair (250/50 2 times a day), Metformin (1 500mg pill daily)

This is the first I've read that pcos is definitely, rather than 'probably' genetic. I assume there is a lot of debate on the issue?

I'm interested in the 'abnormality' that men can inherit...I'll do a search, but if anyone can point me in the direction of info I'd be grateful!
