Thanks for this - it's a very helpful reminder for my family. I would be interested in seeing something like this include PCOS' links to mental state and also to weight gain/difficulty losing weight. My husband is convinced I have PCOS because I am overweight. I look at my Dad's family and can see the obvious genetic link, and think it's the other way around. And I think it affects the men in terms of weight and insulin resistance as well.

Great Info! I'm going to Email my mom (adoptive) and let my hubby read it. I'm just learning about PCOS myself, so some of the questions I have I can't answer yet.
PCOS is an inherited disease and 50% or more of the close relatives of women identified as having PCOS will also have the disease although not all will manifest every symptom.
Men can also inherit the genetic abnormality that in women would lead to PCOS.
