Exclamation paranoid or problem?

Hi, and thanks for reading. I apologize in advance for being so blunt.

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 5 weeks ago and started taking met about 4 weeks ago. I was very lucky in that I had NO side effects whatsoever, not even an upset stomach. But then, last night, I forgot to take the pills with dinner (where I had a couple of drinks), and took the pills when I got home (about 1 1/2 hours after I ate). All was fine, but I woke up in the middle of the night with piercing pains. I eventually had diahrrea (sp) and all was fine.

Then, this afternoon, I had another bowel movement, and there was a substance that looked almost like elastic. I freaked out and found this board.

On some of the drug interaction sites, it says that stomach upset after the initial upset that is expected, could be a sign of lactic acidosis (sp?). Do you think I should stop taking the medication? I can't get in touch with my doctor til Monday morning and it's only Saturday afternoon.

Thanks for any advice you can give me based on your experiences!

I dont know what to say but i too wonder this sometimes.. Meaning i have experienced this many times over the few years i have been taking it!
I just thought it was because of something i ate or whatever.. I know that even when not missing a pill or whatever the symptoms would come and go now and then. So i always just assumed it was from something high in carbs or whatnot that i ate!
I honestly dont know but i have gotten paranoid about the lactic acid thingy too many times thats why i try to totally avoid drinking.. (THOUGH I LIKE SOME RUM NOW AND THEN..LOL) So let me know what you find out also..
Thanks for posting this. I now know i am not alone ...
hugs,
key

This usually happens with people who already have problems with their liver/kidneys from what i have read. Also, i read somewhere that they were considering taking that precaution off because off the rarity of it.

I am nervous too about any medication i take.
