For this homestudy & licensing I have to read a parenting and adoption book as part of my training to get my 6 hours in.

Do you have any suggestions of some good books that irn't 6 inches thick, i'm on a time frame here and hubby is gonna have to do this to around his work schedual.

Thanks for your help. I would go to the library but ours doesn't have a parenting & adoption shelf I wish that it did, but it's a old run down, barely has anything library. That's what I get for living in the boonies hehe. Will look for that author tho, thank you

One my aunt told me to read is Dear Birth Mom.

Do a search online for adoption books and parenting books... like on amazon. And do a search in your library to find out where those are.

I always go to barnesandnoble.com to search (maybe that's b/c we're a member & get discounts though). Anything by Lois Melina is great like Rachel said. I have all China books right now (although I'm trying to convince DH to let me buy more adoption books right now not all on China) so I haven't read any others.

Raising Adopted Children by Lois Melina is an AMAZING book and a very easy read. DH and I read it as part of our training
A lot of people recommend Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Parents Knew by Sherrie Eldridge, but I have to be honest, I HATED it. I got through the first two chapters and threw it away.
