I am very excited to see how this movie turns out. Have any of you seen it? What have you done to spread the love of Christ today?

I have not seen the movie yet but I plan on seeing it.

I just wanted to say that our church sings the song that you have in your signature. I love that song.

Thumbs up

Our church saw a 5 min trailer on Sunday evening. What a moving movie. I will be seeing it when I can. Please pray for all that are involved in this movie as they have come under heavy attack.

I don't think I will be able to see it anytime soon, so I am looking forward to hearing any of your reviews, cysters! Apparently it is very good, but the "R" rating is for very graphic portrayal (and probably very truthful) of the violence of the crucifixion. I would certainly preview it before children saw it and wouldn't take very young children, of course.

I'm very excited to see the movie. It appears to be a very detailed movie of Jesus Christs' last 12 hours of life on earth. I saw a clip on Ebert & Ropert. I want to view it with a group of friends, but I don't know when I'll be able to around my work schedule. It may be next week before I get to see the movie. it does not appear to be like any of the compromised versions of Christ's death & cruxification. The media shows graphic, un-called for violence daily in video games, movies, tv shows, music, everything, but Mel Gibson brought this movie & an uproar has happened b/c it has Christ's name in the title & is about his death. The media is so hypocritical.

HI can I say something here.

First off I'm not trying to offend anyone and I certainly don't claim to be overly educated in this area at all. I am a christian and I too am interested in seeing this movie.

From what I've seen on news, tv and papers the attack is really regarding the interpretation of Pontious Pilot (spelling sorry). They have him washing his hands before b/c he let the crowd decide jesus' fate. Whereas in history it is proven that he is not a compassionate man and is known as horrific Roman leader. That he would have never allowed a crowd to sway his feelings.

Plus they said many people wanted jesus there and where did this crowd come from. Was this pontious' made up story? That is a question.

Then they feared that people would blame the jews as a whole rather than looking at it historically and seeing that it was not all but a few and that crucification and the way he died was a very horrific roman way of executing.

That is what I got out of the conflict. I may be completely wrong, but I just wanted to talk about it too

I think its going to be a very moving story, and probably very realistic with his last 12 hours. I hope that there will be a good discussion on it .

ok sorry if i jumped in on your thread,

I am not going to judge the movie untill I see it, but my hopes are up that it delivers a truthfull message of Jesus. As far as the "Jews" the truth is, we all put Jesus on the cross, every living person from adam to the youngest baby now. And I for one am thankfull for his sacrifice- and wish to spread the message of his "Love and compassion" instead of playing the blame Game. I put him on that cross just as much as anyone else, THANK YOU JESUS FOR SACRIFICING FOR ME!

Forgiven,
I LOVE your signature!

Anyways,
I can't wait to see this movie either! Can you believe it is sold out here already until the end of March??? I guess I'll have to wait a while though.

Come back and tell us what you think when you see it!
I don't think my DH is going with me because it's not in English. But I'm going with my cyster Bethany. Whether she wants to or not. :p

Hugs
Julie

I'm so glad it's playing here in town. I really want to see it (we actually aren't doing anything tonight, but it's probably sold out). What a perfect way to augment the season of Lent, a time when we are called to refocus on Jesus and His suffering and sacrifice for us.

Yeah, the whole Jewish controversy is so distorted. Ultimately, no one "killed" Jesus. He willingly gave up His own life. It's not about anyone but Jesus.

Of course, all of the controversy has had one benefit; it's given this film more publicity than any other has ever received. Advance ticket sales are through the roof! I'm sure that it will pain those in Hollywierd to admit that this film is going to be a blockbuster.

I'm definitely planning on seeing it. When, I'm not quite sure yet but I will definitely see it!

I just want to mention that here in Pittsburgh there is a production called Veronica's Veil that tells the story of Jesus from passover until resurrection (sp?) and then how the lives of the christians were after the resurrection. It's very well done. Okay maybe I'm biased because I have been involved with the production for 25 years. My father has been involved with the production for over 50 years. We have people from Ohio, West Virginia and other states that come in to see the show.

I'd like to encourage anyone who can to attend. This production is in sore need of support for a lot of reasons that I won't go into here. I'd appreciate it if anyone could attend or if you can't and you're so inclined make a donation. If you are interested in helping out, please PM or email me for more information.

Thanks for letting me make my appeal.

Blessings to all.

~Chris

I saw it the other day and thought it was very well done.
Very powerful and touching.
Subtitles normally ruin movies for me but I forgot that the movie wasn't in english almost instantaneously.

Wow! That is about all that I can say. Dh and I went with a group from our church yesterday. For so long our society has painted a simple picture of the crucifixion. We have let ourselves grow complacent with it. I just never imagined the suffering that went on, I mean I knew it happened, but this put it into my mind differently. I got so mad as Christ was being scourged, then I realized each time He was hit it was for me, it was for all of us. WOW!! This movie has changed me and the way I look at what Christ did for us! Most of our congregation had seen it by today and our worship service was incredible. I encourage you all to see it!
