Patiently Waiting About 3 weeks ago, I went to GYN for my lab results. Over the last few months my periods went from 5/6 days to 3 days. I still am regular, give or take a few days. I have always gotten a bit cranky around that time, but lately, I cry over just about anything. I can't control it or stop it and I'm constantly having to leave the office at work so no one see's me. If it's not crying than I just feel so angry and I can't justify how extreme it is. What my blood work shown was an elevated DHEA level. My GYN ordered additional tests (LH, FSH) and another DHEA test and mentioned the possibility of PCOS. Is it common for doctors to rerun the initial DHEA test? This time she told me to wait until the 3rd day of my cycle. Can the DHEA test results be that different if not ran on day 3? I can't remember the exact number, but it was like 115 over the normal range.
Over the last few years, my hair has thinned out and has been really bad lately. I'm 31 years old and I can see so much scalp that by age 35, I think I'm going to be bald. I know this may sound vain, but I just don't know how I can deal with this. Not only that, but I get pimples on my scalp that can be painful. I have an oily complextion and have adult acne as well.
My thyroid is fine. My doctor has put me on Wellbutrin (to quit smoking) which has made me feel somewhat better during the month until I get closer to my period (Pazil & Zoloft are soppose to be better for PMS) than I'm on an emotional rollar coaster once again.
I apologize for ranting. I just feel like crap physically and mentally. I just need some answers as to "why" and go from there in hopes I feel better soon. How long did it take for a dx?
Thanks for listening. |
