Christine-- I'm glad to hear Dr. G left a positive impression on you. YAAY! I don't want to be unnecessarily nervous if we have to have an appointment with her, so thanks for sharing your experience. Good luck with your ultrasound tomorrow! An intern did your HSG??? At Heartland?????? uhmm... shaking in my boots right now. You aren't looking forward to the IUI because of your HSG experience? I am so sorry! Maybe you can request one of the seasoned doctors to do it?[/quote]
I am not really scared, more like nervous. So far, the staff has been wonderful in explaining everything before they do it, and the same went with the HSG. I am prone to massive AF cramps (to the point where I fall to my knees if I am standing), and this was a little bit worse than that. As for the intern, Dr. Ramey asked if I was ok with it - silly me said "SURE - go ahead!" But I guess they have to learn somehow. I don't think it would have been any better if Dr. Ramey or any of the other docs would have done it - just the way my body reacted!!

I am new here and Happy to have found this thread! I have been seeing Dr. Ramey since the end of Sept. I love everyone in the office minus one of the receptionists. She is rude and does not seem to interested in the patients at all. She is always messing with her phone when we are checking in.. oh well. I too LOVE Cheryl(sp) the ultrasound tech!
I just completed my first IUI on Friday!! Saying prayers and crossing fingers! I started my cycle with Provera and then started Follistim 75iu working my way up to 200iu finally I had 2 mature follicles on my right ovary. Did HCG trigger on Wednesday. The IUI experience was easy! A nurse Dani did my IUI and she did a great job. I too had the "airbag" as my DH called it. hahaha... I started my progesterone- vaginally today and will test in 2 weeks.
I was a little nervous about the progesterone and hoping I got it inserted far enough to the cervix to be able to do what it needs to do.
Good Luck to all baby dust to all!!

kmh, wow, charges for telephone calls? We'll see if that happens to us. If that is the case, I've racked up at least $100 today alone talking to the nurse.
Ky, good luck to you girl, test day is approaching fast!!! It sounds like Cheryl is lovely, you all are raving about her To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
DH and I are having our S/A and HSG done next week. When I talked to the nurse earlier, she said we'll sit down with the RE 2 weeks after the S/A. She said absolutely nothing about any sort of treatment for this cycle. I am so disappointed, I though we'd at least be on Clomid, maybe a trigger, while we wait the results, just so we don't waste a cycle. I know they want the full picture before prescribing treatment, but geez, a little something to help out in the meantime would be nice.
How did it work for you all? Was your testing cycle a completely untreated cycle?
Do you think they would be willing to accommodate my desire to be on Clomid and do a trigger while we wait for the results to formulate our next step?

If you'll be having an HSG, you don't want to use anything this cycle anyway - it could possibly flush a tiny little embryo right out of there. Hopefully AF will arrive on time next cycle and you won't have to play the Provera waiting game - you could still squeeze in one cycle and be in the 2ww before the calendar year ends.
The nurse called and said I was fine to do Clomid with my OBGYN and it won't affect testing or postpone treatment at Heartland. Waiting on a phone call from my OBGYN to give me the green light, and we should be good to go. It isn't ideal, but again, it's something.

I'm having my HSG CD9, before I even ovulate.

We were supposed to receive DH's bloodwork results this week so we could schedule his S/A. We never did get a call, so I called today--- everything's normal, as expected, so we can go ahead and schedule his S/A with Patty. I assume Patty is out due to Thanksgiving because she didn't return my call today.
Once I get a hold of her, how soon does she schedule the S/A? Immediately? I'm getting nervous because we are heading into my fertile window this next week, and I am so scared they are going to have him abstain to do his thing in the cup when he really needs to be getting busy with me! Do you think she'd be willing to work around my ovulation? How long will they make him wait between ejaculations?

I wouldn't see any reason why they wouldn't work around your ovulation. You won't be able to start any treatments this cycle anyway, so they shouldn't have any reason to hurry things up now. However, you will probably want to get it done shortly after ovulation (if you are planning to do a medicated cycle with them this next cycle), just so they can get results and decide what your plan will be.
In regards to the amount of wait time, I am not 100% sure what they will suggest as we had our SA done at my OB/GYN, so they said it wasn't necessary to repeat. However, for our IUI, they wanted my husband to have abstained for at least 48 hours. They usually suggest to abstain for at least 2 days, but no more than 5 days for SA.
