I was diagnosed almost 1 year ago with PCOS. I have always been on birth control and still do not get my periods, theyve put me on progesterone periodically over the past few years to make me have a period. But since being diagnosed and since being prescribed Metformin (glucophage) I thought some of my problems would have gone away. They have not. The facial hair, mood swings, bouts of depression, low sex drive, acne, and no periods are still here in fullforce. What else can I do? Can anyone help or refer a doctor in the OC??

first of all welcome to sc My hair didnt get any better until I started on 'Spironolactone' which has helped a lot. Have you had chance to look at the newbie section yet? there's loads of good info in there

WEll i was on b/c for 10 years i had to signs of anything. except for being 25 pounds over weight and some darkness on my neck..
other wise i was great. Wasent unti i was taken off. All hell broke loose.
imon metformin now. That takes care of the darkness like 80%
always had regular periods, and ample sex drive i was lucky.
just not ovulating. Doctor claims if i lose 30 pounds.. everything will go back to the way it was. .cause i gained 30 pounds on top of the 25 after i stopped b/c
anyways.. to make a long story short. if your not happy.. Go see another doctor.. Get a 2nd opion..
