Default PCOS for 18 Years, Just starting to work on it

I've had PCOS since I was 18, I am 36 today and now that I am getting married and want to have a baby I am finally taking it seriously.

In the past I would either stay on the pill or provera every few months to get a cycle. That was fine with me. When you aren't trying to get pregnant not getting your period is great.

A few years ago I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, and now I take Humira shots in my stomach once a week to control the arthritis pain. I knew that my psoriasis and arthritis might be linked to PCOS but, and I'm ashamed to admit this I didn't do anything about it.

Last month I was diagnosed with HBP and an underactive thyroid. I've recently been put on the generic version of Synthroid and I am trying to loose weight by eating less carbs and sweets (of course I'm a huge sweet tooth). I've been going to a fertility specialist to get my PCOS in control in Chicago. She is nice but I'm afraid that she is going to just push more drugs and I would like to take care of some of my symptoms naturally. I need advise. I don't want to be stupid and refuse Western Medicine, but at the same time I don't want to blindly take every and all drugs that she pushes towards me.

We are getting married in November and I am 40 lbs. over weight, to say that the extra weight isn't a concern is a lie. We want to start trying to get pregnant in January and I want my body to be as ready for that as I can make it.

Advise, Help, Please???
Carrie

Losing weight was the best way for me to deal with my PCOS naturally. I still couldn't get pregnant on my own but I did get a cycle every 2 months or so. Metformin really helped me lose weight and get pregnant. I"m not one to take lot's of drugs normally but I think Metformin is worth it for me.
I also take 1x low-dose aspirin, 1x Evening primerose oil, 1x B100 complex and I just started taking Vitex. Who knows what all of that is doing but I used to get REALLY hormonal when AF was around and now I don't so my husband says it's worth it.

Good luck with your wedding and TTC'ing!
