Default PCOS and abnormal thyroid result

To continue from my previous thread, the nurse called me back today to say my OBGYN had been on holiday and had missed my thyroid result of 5.9 hence originally telling me last Thursday by post that all tests were normal... I informed her that the AACE site has revised its normal range and she dismissed this...

The nurse then said the OBGYN now says I have an abnormal thyroid result and I am to go and be tested for T3 and T4. He also wants me to talk to an Endocrinologist and has referred me to a choice of 2.

So, off for the blood test and then to see the Endocrinologist. What am I to expect apart from being put on medication to regulate my hypothyroidism? Should I be prepared to ask any specific questions?

Cheers,
emeritus
