Default PCOS after a complete hysterectomy?

Hello everyone! I just joined this site, even tho I have had PCOS for almost 20 years! Now the doc found pre-cancerous cells in the thickened lining of my uterus. He said that he recommends a complete hysterectomy including my ovaries because of my PCOS problems. Have any of you had this done? Does it help any symptoms i.e. excess weight, oily skin, acne, excess hair and depression? I have other endocrine problems as well (pituitary tumor and high parathyroid levels) but I was SO hoping that at least the hysterectomy would take care of SOME of my problems! Also, my period was regular like clockwork for the past few years and now I am 3 months late...I have NO sex drive and I just got married less than 2 years ago! I know my husband is wondering what the heck is going on! Thank you all SOO much for your advice! xoxo

Hysterectomy is certainly a path that some women have to take for specific health issues. I've never heard of it being used to treat pcos.

You might want to run a search on this board - I know that the topic has come up up before. Use this term: hysterec*

(The search function doesn't like long words, so the wild card "*" will bring up what you need.)

You might also want to visit the HysterSisters website and forum to see if any women there have any input.

Either way you go, get several opinions from doctors.
