Default PCOS aka. Stein-Leventhal Syndrome

Well I was reading up on anti androgens and seeing if an anti androgen medicine will help reduce the amount of unwanted hair on my body while helping the ones on the head from falling out and while reading this, it says that pcos can also be known as stein-leventhal syndrome. Anyone else know about this? This is the very first time I even heard of that. I wonder if the Drs. are familiar with this term instead of pcos? I havent looked it up yet to see if it is accurate but i thought I would post it on here.

It's the same syndrome; it was originally identified in the 1930s by gynos Irving F. Stein, Sr. and Michael Leo Leventhal, so they gave it that name. They have since called it PCOS because, I think, of the prevalence of polycystic ovaries among those who have it.

Yes, that's the old name for PCOS (named after those Stein and Leventhal guys).

I've seen references to PCOS symptoms (in primary sources), though, going back to the 18th century.
