Default PCOS and Anger

I don't know if this is related to PCOS or not. I keep scaring my financee with my anger outbursts. For example last night he was helping me with something on the computer then erased it on the computer to start it over. He walked away to clear his head but didn't communicate this to me. I felt like he left me high and dry on this. I couldn't figure out how to do it then I cried, got frustrated then angry to where I threw a clipboard and broke it.
I used to get angry at work too in the past. I've gotten fired 2x due to this. Could this be related to PCOS? I don't know if this is related or not. It seems to be worse when I'm taking the generic form of Provera to have my periods. I seem to PMS every time on that medication and my fiancee's scared over the thought of me going onto birth control pills once my endocrinologist rechecks my liver which will have to wait until I get health insurance after I get married next year. I was waiting for my period to start yesterday and it started last night. I had finished taking the medroxyprogesterone on Sunday so it was just a matter to time it started. Is all of this related?
I seemed to be angry one minute, depressed the next and fine the next. I keep having to apologize to my fiancee for how I'm acting and feel bad that he has to put with all my mood swings. He thinks I need anger management classes but I'm wondering if my temper is related to my disease. I can get angry over the most minor things.
Does anyone have any advice or this or does anyone else experience this too? Thanks for any help someone can might be able shed some light on this. I feel like I'm alone on this.

Welome to Provera hell!!

All of that is common(I hate saying that) to that med.
I have heard horror stories from women with the same issues as you.

I also have dealt with (PMDD) prementral disforic disorder(sp?)
(Really bad form of PMS)

I have tried several meds over the years. The only thing that helped(long term) was the low dose of Zoloft. That was a blessing.

I have had several issues at work with "losing it". Not severe like you.
But enough that I understand how fast you can break down and how hard to regain yourself. (Xanax is great too, but they don't let you stay on that for long)

You may ask about one of them to take as you take the provera.

I am sorry your suffering!

Patty

Have you always been like this?
I call this the PCOS monster, and it only surfaced when my PCOS became apparent. Now that I am on Metformin, which has done wonders to regulate my hormones, I find I've put the monster to sleep, but when I was on a Met break during my second pregnancy, it came back out and it was ugly. I have always had a temper, but the monster is really, really bad. It transformed me into a person I did not want to be, and I became frightened and depressed thinking I was going to be this person for the rest of my life.
I am convinced the PCOS monster is raised by whacked hormones. Have you had them checked?

I've had my hormones tested earlier this year but sadly I have very lousy health insurance right now. It won't cover blood work or 99% of it anyway and I can't afford the expense of paying for it myself. I've had a temper but never like this before. I have to say that I've blown up at my former roommate/best friend several times, work in the past but not this bad. Perhaps it's something I need to go back to my endocrinologist to discuss then again she doesn't want to put me on any medication until she restests my liver to make sure my liver enzymes are normal. I'm stuck for now until I get married in September and can get the good health insurance that he has. I'm not real keen on taking medication in general as I feel as a society we over medicate but I wish this ugly monster would go away though. I hate the fact that I scare my fiancee and animals when I get this angry to where I blow a gasket so to speak.

I would hardly say I am over-medicating when all I'm doing is helping my body go back to normal. I would rather pop a pill every morning for the rest of my life than ever go back to being that ill-tempered b...h I was without it. It was truly horrible, as if the monster had taken over my entire personality. I was not who I used to be and certainly didn't like the person I had turned into.

I'm glad they're testing your liver enzymes. That would be important if you ever went on Metformin.

It cleared my brain fog, brought back af, helped me lose weight, made me o' again, and helped me get pregnant. My first Metformin miracle is now 3 years old, my second (surprise one) arrived December11!

By accident did we find out that I have some liver issues going on which I think is related to the PCOS. I have a fatty liver or did anyway at the time of testing so she wants to hold off on putting me on any medication that has to be synthesized through the liver a lot until we retest it. I just hope that what I've been doing has worked. Next time I see my endo. I'll talk to her about my really bad anger episodes to see what she can do to help me out on this. If I can avoid some of these episodes and give us both a better piece of mind it'll be worth it to take some medication to help my body being out of whacked.
PCOS sure is a major pain in the butt more than what I initially realized!! I'm just GLAD that I have this message board to talk to others about what's going on with me and help others with what's helped me with this disease too.

Ahh yes the Dr. Jekyll Mr Hyde syndrome... I know this OH to well... Like another cyster said once on Met my moods have leveled out insanely. I was a beast since 4th grade... I could cry on the drop of a dime or totally rip your head off in the next breath... Not fun but I'm sure you know that. You just need to explain these things to your man because he will not know what is going on when you just flip out. My ex dealt with it only for a while and when I told him it was hormones he just laughed in my face... Hence the ex part LOL anyhu, seriously though I think this is normal for PCOSers why I don't know - - Start taking Vitamins if you haven't already Evening Primrose has really helped with a lot of different issues. Good Luck sweetie

I have not had mood swings in years and years. Since recovering from my ectopic I find myself feeling really B****Y. Almost to the point were I just want to throw something. Is there anything I can take natural that would help me with this? I am sure that as my body continues to adjust this will settle down again. Like I said, it has been years and years since I have had this problem.
