Default pcos and depresssion and anxiety

I am Elainemay, 27 yrs. old from the Philippines. I have been diagnosed with PCOS this year. The doctor based this on the fact that I am overweight, i have irregular or absent menses and the polycystic ovaries that were seen in the ultrasound. My menstruation has always been irregular since high school. In 1997, I was put in Provera to induce menstruation but the effect was so bad. I was depressed and crying for no reason at all. I transferred to another og-gyne last year and she prescribed primolut to induce menstruation. I've taken this twice and I was able to bleed. Up to now, my menstruation is irregular. I am overweight 175 lbs for 5"5'.

My biggest problem is depression and anxiety. I have had 3 major breakdowns/depressive episodes. Recently, my shrink diagnosed me as dysthemic, long-term/chronic depressive.

I am currently taking Prozac 20 mg and Rivotril. My new ob-gyne wants me to take duphaston or primolut to induce menstruation and metformin to reduce the size of my cysts and regulate my hormones so i can hopefully bleed naturally.

Pls. help me. Can I drink duphaston and metformin with prozac and rivotril? My shrink doesn't know the answer nor does my ob-gyne.

For a depressive, is progesterone better or contraceptive pill?

Hello!

I can't answer a lot of your questions, but I'm sure other cysters will be able to!

I take prozac (40mg) and metformin (1700mg) and I haven't had any problems with the combination. I can definitely say they have helped me!

Take care and keep us updated.

Dani
