Cool The PCOS Diet

I just received The PCOS diet by Nadir R. Fardi and Norene Gilletz. Finally a book that contains information on PCOS that is 90% a cookbook!!!!!! I have been looking for recipe for a low GI diet and finally found some. Great book and for $23 its worth it!

Gstump, Could you say something about what the dietary goals are generally and what the ideal healthy diet for a PCOS patient is supposed to be according to the book?

I am going to make a high fiber pasta sauce out of the book for tonight. You use lentils to add fiber.

The book is basically calling for diet high in fiber, good carbs, fruits and veggies and lean protein. Basically how we all should eat for a good diet. Also states that you should eat 5-6 times a day as well.

Made the Cheater's High Fiber Spaghetti Sauce and all I have to say is OMG!!! Great stuff, the kids loved it! All I did was take a jar of Newman's Own Sockarooni pasta sauce, cooked up some lentils, pureed a cup with some water, added the lentils to the sauce, some red wine and additional spices and some ground turkey and it was great.

I also got the Insulin-Resistance Diet and am going to try some recipes out of that as well. I think the next recipe I try out of the PCOS Diet will be the Lemon Dill Chicken.

They are both pretty much the same. I haven't noticed any difference between the 2.
