Default PCOS doctor in Bay Area but I'm not trying to get pregnant

I have a PCOS and have been without health insurance for a few years now. I just started grad school and want to get back on a BCP and seriously address my hirutism issues. It seems to get worse every year, is really affecting my self-esteem and I really don't want to get prego while in grad school.

From what I hear Planned Parenthood has a limited selection of pills. I would love to be able to discuss the pros and cons of each pill with a doctor and I figure I need to get insurance first...
I have been on many differect pills before (horrible experience with Yasmin) and I wanted to make sure I choose carefully.
Can anyone recommend a good insurance plan or even a clinic or center in the Bay Area for my situation??

thanks!!

Where are you going to school? does your school have a health center? I went to a CSU and they had an awesome health center. If your school does they may have more options and be able to get you bcp for little or no money. You say Bay Area, but where in the Bay area? South, north, east? I am in the Stockton area and I love the sutter health system my doctors are very caring and pro active, they actually take the time to return phone calls in a timely mannor if I call in with a concern or question. As for insurance I have pacificare (united health care) through my job and I love it. My husband has kaiser and he hates the insurance and trying to make appointments or trying to get someone on the phone. He would be on my insurance if it were not cost prohibitive for us. You can probably get private insurance for a low rate if you are not interested in something that covers maternity. I liked blue cross/shield and interplan insurance too.

Hi Kellie!!!
Thanks for the info.. I am going to CSU East Bay. I found out they do have a health center where they can consult me on BCP.. I hope they are familiar with PCOS...
But I'll def try them first before getting an insurance plan.

thnx!
