PCOS doctor in Lafayette, LA or nearby??

Hi,

I just moved to Lafayette, Louisiana from the D.C. area and need a good PCOS doctor here. I can drive to Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Alexandria, or even Houston if necessary. I have gained so much weight since thyroidectomy 18 months ago I feel out of control. Was diagnosed with PCOS at 16 yo and am now 42 yo. Think I may be peri-menopausal too.

Where are all the Hormone Specialists in this country?!?! Every other commercial on TV is for Viagra, Cialis or pills to make men "larger"... Where is help for us???? I have had no sex drive at all in a long time.

Heck, I would fly to Los Angeles if there were a real hormone specialist who could help me.

Does one exist?

I don't know of any doctors in Lafayette offhand. I think you're probably right to suspect that you might have to drive, at least to a slightly bigger city like BR. In at least two of the threads, there are recommendations for endocrinologists in BR.

You're welcome! Between the five threads I posted, you should be able to get a couple names of doctors to call... BR is not too far of a drive for you if you're in Lafayette, and it would totally be worth an hour's drive if you find a good doctor. :-)
