I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16, and started taking Metformin and Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo. However, I stopped taking both for several years. I recently started back and have been on Metformin for about 5 months and Yaz for about 4 months. Several days ago, I started having diffuculty breathing, so I contacted my OBGYN thinking it may be the meds. She told me to go see my family doctor since I have a family history of asthma. The doctor did a chest x-ray, breathing test, and blood work. The x-ray and breathing test were all normal, and the blood work has not come in. My doctor prescribed an inhaler even though I showed no signs of asthma and told me to take it if I had trouble breathing. I told her my concerns about the meds because I read online where Met can cause difficulty breathing which might lead to something more serious and I also read where people had trouble breathing with Yaz. Has anyone else had trouble breathing on either of these meds. My doctor dismissmed the idea, but I'm not convinced.

I also have asthma and have been on metformin and yaz for almost 3 months... i have noticed a bit more breathing issues but mine haven't been really bad. try the inhaler mine helps me...

could you see a different dr if you arent happy with the one you have right now?? welcome to sc
