I thought endometriosis involved the lining of the uterus. It doesn't look that way from the pic.
Endometrium is what lines the uterus and is made of endometrial tissue. Endometriosis is what happens when you have endometrial tissue OUTSIDE of the uterus. It reacts to your monthly hormone changes the way that the lining of your uterus does (bleeding, etc), which causes pain, scar tissue, adhesions, etc.
