I have had PCOS for about 3 years and long to be a mum. Obviously i'm over weight and should be having a Gastric Bypass done by Aug 2009. I just wondered if anyone has had a Bypass done and have been lucky enough to get pregnant afterwoods.
Also, is they anything i can do or take to improve my chances of been a mum with PCOS.
Hi, Jen. I had the duodenal switch on March 24th, 2008. I just started TTC. I have seen several women on OH who got pregnant after WLS. I actually am friends with two women who are preggers right now who had WLS 2 years ago. I know one of them had PCOS. I hope that gives you some hope.

I had gastric bypass almost 5 years ago and have had 2 healthy & successful pregnancies post op. I went through 8 years of failed fertility treatments prior to my gastric bypass and even with injectables wouldn't ovulate. I got pregnant both times the 1st month ttcing post op. My 1st pregnancy was at 16 months post op and the 2nd was at 3.5 years post op. My OB & I agree that had it not been for my surgery & subsequent weight loss that I would have likely never had gotten pregnant.
