Default PCOS and having a preemie

I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago. I was tested because I have been dealing with infertility for the last 3 years of ttc.
I was wondering does PCOS cause prematurity? My first pregnancy was a miscarriage 6 years ago and the second pregnancy was my daughter, tree months premature. Went into labor at 25 weeks and had her at 26. Is it likely that I had PCOS then and didn't know it and that is the cause of the prematurity? (The doctors never did know why I went into labor early).
