1) N.ew Supplement Formula for PCOS
A n.ew supplement formula designed to help with
PCOS has just been introduced to the market. It
was formulated by two physicians who have many
years of experience with the clinical application of
nutritional supplements.
The formula contains a combination of chromium,
vitamin D and d-pinitol. We think this formula can
be significantly helpful for women with PCOS,
especially if insulin resistance is present.
D-pinitol is similar to D-chiro inositol. D-chiro
inositol was the object of much excitement a few
years ago in PCOS circles because a study
showed it improved ovulation, reduced testosterone
levels and insulin resistance.

2) Blood Sugar and Your Fertility
We recently came across a study showing a
connection between chronically high blood sugar
levels and fertility problems.
If you think your blood sugar may be on the high
side, you may want to get a special blood test
mentioned in this article.

3) Spearmint Tea May Reduce Hirsutism in PCOS
In a recent study of 21 women with excessive
hairiness, 12 had PCOS and the other 9 had
hirsutism of unknown origin.
The women took a cup of herbal tea (steeped with
spearmint for 5 days) twice a day in the follicular
phase (first half) of their menstrual cycles.
After treatment with the spearmint teas, the
women had a significant decrease in fr.ee
testosterone.
Fr.ee testosterone is the hormone that contributes
to hirsutism, acne and other PCOS problems. If
fr.ee testosterone can be reduced, the symptoms
will tend to diminish.
The researchers state that "spearmint can be an
alternative to antiandrogenic treatment for mild
hirsutism."
