Angry PCOS and Heart Problems

For about the past three years I have been having a lot of chess pain, the first time I went to the emerengcy room complaining of this, I was
hospitalized for 3 days and told I had a heart attack, come to find out the doctors were not really sure what was going on with me. The only indication they had that I had a heart attack was my enzymes levels were high, every other test came back normal, even the EKG’s said my heart was fine. This past June I ended up back in the hospital ER with the same problem, yet again they said that I had a heat attack, but my enzymes were the only indicator that there was anything wrong with my heart. I had a stress test, more EKG’s, an Echo, abdominal ultrasound, Pet scan, Angiogram, Chest xrays, you name it I have had it and all the test results come back normal except for my enzymes levels. I am so frustrated, I take a daily medication but I still have chest pain every now and then. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced this kind of unexplained chest pain and what effect PCOS has on you heart?

I have heart problems, dont know if they are PCOS related. I began having heart problems when I was 18 after going on birthcontrol. I was having heart skips and weird irregular arrythmias. I was told it was normal. I had chest pains etc etc and no one could figure it out. I had ekgs that would come back abnormal and even went to cardiologists who told me I dont' have a thing wrong with me. I eventually found my way after non stop testing (4 years later) to an Electrocardiologist. They did ekgs, and tilt tables, and bubble tests to find I have a significant PFO( hole in my heart between the top two chambers) Mitral valve prolapse, Tricuspid and Pulmonic valve prolapse, Postural Orthorstatic Tachycardia and Neurocardio Genic Syncope... To say I was a bit surprised was an understatement. Eventually I will need heart surgery to close the hole in my heart but the rest of the stuff is incurable. Good luck with your heart and if you know something is wrong don't stop looking. It took me 4 years to get diagnosed after being told I was crazy, and having tons of tests and being turned away I knew something just wasn't right.

There are several pcos/heart articles in the RESEARCH ARTICLE forum. You might want to run a search - it's been a pretty hot topic over the years.

PCOS, per se, isn't the issue. PCOS is a syndrome which can include: High cholesterol, insulin resistance, etc. These are all things that can contribute to heart issues (among other things.)

Typically after an ER visit you're directed to follow up with your primary care physician for follow up.

Did you not get any input when you went in for follow up?

I hope you get some answers soon. "Heart" issues are very unsettling.
