Question PCOS & hypertension - holistic remedies

Is anyone out there suffering w/ PCOS and hypertension (or pre-hypertension)? I have been taking a water pill now since Jan '08 for borderline hypertension. It just appeared out of nowhere.

If anyone is in the same boat, have you tried any homeopathic/holistic remedies that work and you can recommend? --Thanks!

Garlic is the only holistic remedy I've ever heard of, and I'm not sure it works for many people. If you're like me, and garlic exudes from your skin, your friends will refuse to be around you if you take garlic. Lifestyle changes can help reduce blood pressure. Lower salt intake to 2300mg per day or less. Cardio exercise. Remove stress. Lose weight.

There is a device called Resperate that using breathing techniques to lower blood pressure. http://www.resperate.com/

Here's an extensive article on various causes of hypertension:
http://www.healthandage.com/html/res...tensioncc.html

They mention lots of fruits & veggies, but not the potassium connection. Which there is one. A magnesium deficiency can also cause you not to absorb potassium properly. Making sure you get all your minerals could affect assimilation of them all.

Are you on metformin at all? Since Met can be hard on the kidneys, and hypertension can be caused by kidney problems, I guess it could technically cause hypertension. Or any other rx meds that can be tough on kidneys.

If you are on Met, I'd be especially careful with water pills. Dehydration+Met could cause lactic acidosis (which is dangerous in itself, but also can cause worsening hypertension).
