Default PCOS and IBS

Found out I had PCOS 3 months ago. First I thought no big deal but after reading all this site has to offer I am starting to see that some of my problems are from it. I also have IBS and have for years. Does anyone else have these two together.

Me, too. I have had it for about 10 years before my PCOS diagnosis last year.
What are you guys doing for the diarrhea kind like mine? I'm pulling my hair out and living in the bathroom. Immodium must be losing it's strength because I seem to be getting worse...
Thanks for the info on the other thread, too!

I have not been dx with IBS - but I know that I have it! I buy 2 boxes of Imdodium AD at a time about every 2 weeks - If I run out without picking up more - I'm out of commission for the day! Ugh!

i have both as well. although, my ibs isn't too bad and i wonder at times if i really have it. but there are times when i have to run for the bathroom at work. it's usually when i eat out for lunch and it's almost instantaneous. there are certain restaurants i have to stay away from. but sometimes it bothers me and sometimes it doesn't. the unpredictability of it is what's a pain.

Man, I so agree!! It has really helped to make lists of the things that trigger it, but you are right - certain restaurants...forget 'em! Also, my chair is closest to the bathroom at work :-)
By the way, the site that was mentioned in the previous thread- www.helpforibs.com has a lot of great info for both kinds of IBS.

Default Me too...

IBS ...Since I was a kid but not really properly diagnosed. I complained to my doc years ago and he said (without any tests, exam or anything), "You've got IBS, live with it." Great guy, I really miss him. Not.

I manage the situation by avoiding what I've worked out are my triggers inc. wheat, caffiene and jacket potatoes. If I got near any of my triggers land speed records could be broken ... especially if I'm on an office chair with wheels. I kept a food diary and did an elimination diet. When I'm under par I become intolerant of other things as well, inc. mushrooms, cheese/dairy.

The a tonne of people who posted to the survey about "other symptoms" also had IBS.
