Default PCOS and inflammation

Hi
Just wanted to see if anyone out there has been looking at the link between inflammation and PCOS. I am a little confused - I thought IR was root cause of PCOS but inflammation plays a role also - ?? Is inflammation cause of IR or IR lead to inflammation. Anyway - so many things are starting to make sense since I was diagnosed. I had years of back and neck pain - all probably inflammation..Has anyone else had this? Muscular inflammation?

Apparently this is an immune system response. I wonder if immune boosting treatment is important in managing PCOS...I will keep researching but appreciate any response from others.

see ya

Hello, Well from experience and all the research I have done your immune system is really weak when you have pcos and you need to take herbs/vitamins and natural supplements like vitamin c to help your immune system

Well Im not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg (IR or inflammation) but i do know they are related and that Omega3s/Fish Oil is strongly suggested for that reason b/c Ive been researching that lately...The typical western, modern diet is too high in Omega 6s and not high enough in Omega 3s

I am a pretty healthy eater, but after being on vacation and eating crap this weekend, I was so inflamed that I hurt in all my joints. I was also so bloated that my clothes were tight and I felt so uncomfortable.

I'm not allowed to be on any supplements or special diets because I'm part of a research study, but I can say I started drinking a ton of green tea and ate some salmon yesterday. It was just unbearably painful. I feel much better today. I didn't realize that inflammation had anything to do with PCOS, I figured I had the beginning of RA, since my grandfather and mom both have it.
