The lab my dr uses has 70-100 as norm. And there are some labs that read 70-109 are norm.
You should ask your dr what the normal values are for the lab used, and also ask if the insulin levels were tested.

For the insulin do you know what the special test is called or just ask for my insulin to be tested? I have so many things tested so often I cant remember what is what!

I believe, based on the symptoms, that I was IR from the time I was about 16. My periods were like clockwork so no one ever notice. Any way, it wasn't until I was losing no weight that the alarms started to go off and by that time I was 225. I suspected the PCOS but had never even heard of it until my gyno thought that's what I had based on my bloodwork results. My endocrinologist confirmed it. |

It's pretty common for people to be told that their labs are 'normal' when, really, your own research might indicate otherwise.
The insulin test you want is a 'fasting insulin' test. |

My Mood: Points: 2,713.13 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,713.13 | Ok this might be morbid but my cousin and I are both struggling with PCOS. The other night we were both watching everyone eat chips and drink beer. We were talking about how we were trying to avoid those things because of the syndrom when I said "I was diagnosed with PCOS and all I got was this lousy moustache!" I hope no one is offended! We thought it was absolutly hilarious! Basically my biggest question is that if I have been diagnosed then is it in my best interest to switch my PCOS for an Endorcinologist? I appreciate your help!
