PCOS-knowledgeable doctor needed in Detroit-Metro Area hi ladies!
I'm new to the community... was diagnozed with PCOS 3 years ago after missing 3 months in a row... [should've been diagnosed 6 years ago due to similar symptoms but that Dr. never caught on]... anyway, i moved to the detroit-metro are because of work a year ago and found a gyn near home that just doesn't seem to be as aware as my old one was at school... maybe it's bc my old one was at the health center at my university and saw more patients with it? i switched pills when i got the new dr. and am starting to wonder if my recent moodswings have anything to do with the pill i'm on [ocella]... been on it for almost a year...
"so why didn't you notice it sooner?" you ask... like i said, i had just moved to a new city [and state] straight out of school with no family and friends nearby... and then my mother passed away 3 months later... oh, and did i mention i'm inthe automotive industry?! i honestly just thought i was stressed out... until my bf made a comment a couple of months back that i "just couldn't seem to be happy"... which caused me to start paying more attention to my moods... i've been having some, shall we say, *righteous* moodswings in the past few months! i also noticed some increased hairloss for a bit- i again, attributed that to stress and the fact that i may not always eat healthy when i'm stressed so i got back on my daily multivitamin... it has gotten better. I've noticed a few other things creeping up on me- cramps and breast tenderness [both of which i haven't endured in a few years], and i'm not quite as predictable as i have been in the past [off by a day or two]... little things, i'm sure... but i'm noticing a lot of little things lately.
If anyone could recommend a doctor in the area, it would be greatly appreciated... also, is there is a pill out there that might work better for someone with PCSO?- i'm starting to see the name zovia out there...any thoughts?
THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!! =] |
