PCOS and the Lap Band?

I have PCOS and am considering the Lap Band. Any comments, suggestions, advice, aversions?

I had the lapband about a year and a half ago and I have lost 70 lbs. I've worked really hard and I exercise a LOT as well...Since I've had the weight loss, AF is on time every month and my hormones have balanced out quite a bit. I've had laser hair treatment on my face, but it hasn't come back, so I'm psyched! I've also noticed my acne has cleared up a lot and I am feeling just great overall.

You should check out the WLS (weight loss surgery) thread, under Diet and Exercise buddies. We have a great group and tons of support.

Thanks, Beth. From you post, it looks as though we share (or shared) the same PCOS symptoms. I have also thought about laser hair removal, so I'm glad you brought that up. We also have a very similar starting weight, though at 5'3", I'd bet I'm shorter than you. Good luck in your training, and thanks again for the post. I will certainly check out that other forum.
